I have a bold 9700 and curiously in the spot I am right now in my house, 3G is stronger than 2G, so I test my phone on 2G only and 3G only.

On 3G only, my signal strength stays the same if I grip it, but not the same on 2G only, the bars go down fast. So I might say that the signal drop depends on how strong is the signal against the grip effect of your hands.

I do say Jobs is right, this issue is not just about the Iphone4, is just the media doing its job.

Shit he’s right. I just did the same test with my phone (LG Arena). The EXACT same thing happened. Never noteced before.

@ragd79 it depends on your area where you live..there are areas where the death grip is no problem and there are also some where you get dropped calls

i try this with the droid eris i lost no bars at all lol… i held for about 5 mins no dropped bars
